WCS (Weight Classification System)
The weight classification system senses the weight of the passenger in the passenger seat and sends the information to the airbag control unit.
Weight-based passenger identification system calculates the weight of a passenger on a passenger seat and identifies the passenger (adult, infant, vacant) before delivering the data to the airbag control system to decide on the inflation of the airbag on the passenger seat. (World’s first two sensor type system has been developed and manufactured.)
Function
- Weight Sensor: Calculate the weight added on the passenger seat
- Passenger Identification System Controller (WCU: WCS Control Unit)
Identify the passengers using the signal from a weight sensor
Apply a driving algorithm for a correct passenger identification under different driving conditions
