Readout Integrated Circuit (ROIC) is a key component to applications such as in fields of digital radiation imaging, physics, chemistry, environment, and biology that require precise micro signal detection and fast data processing.

ROICs for low-dosage, high speed radiation imaging detectors used in medical imaging system, non-destructive testing equipment, and security screening system receives signals off photo sensor, which generates electric signals as radiation hit after passing through subject, and processes digitally to provide image data.

There are two different types of radiation imaging ROICs and sensors: charge integrating, and a next generation technology of photon counting.

Also, with advancement in sensor technology such as MEMS and DNA sensors, a market for ROICs for temperature/humidity, luminescent, acoustic, chemical, environmental hormone, and bio sensors is emerging rapidly.
