The Emergence Response Landing vessel was designed and delivered to Republic of Korea Coast Guard in 2009. Since then total of 10 vessels were delivered. The vessel was designed to conduct emergency respond when there is oil spillage and maritime pollution.
The major role of the emergency response vessel is to preserve the ocean by minimizing the damage from the pollution. Emergency Response Landing Craft recovers the spillage, prevents spillage from getting into port/harbor and transports people and equipment to the island area. It also performs surveillance of oil tanker during routine activities.
