Air Handing Unit (AHU, Air Conditioner)

HI AIR KOREA air handing unit can be used with SINGLE - PIPE AC System, TWIN-PIPE AC system and RE-HEAR AC System (electric reheater or hot water reheater) with the combination of different types of cabin units.

HI AIR KOREA air handing unit type HKA is specially designed for marine installations of air conditioning Each section is designed as a modular system and consists of a rigid framework made of square sections with specially assembled corners. The sections are made of galvalume 1 steel sheet and internally we insulated.

Equipment such as fan, motor and filter mat can be simply removed from its section through inspection doors fitted to ensure easy maintenance.

The condensed water from cooler, humidifier and water eliminator drop into drip pans and drains out of the unit. The unit can be hooked up by means of eye-plates mounted in each corner of the bed frame. Each component comprising the air handing unit is high quality equipment designed for marine application.

- Mixing section
Mixes the fresh air from outside with return air coming from the served area. Automatic or Manually operated dampers are fitted to control the quality of fresh air and return air.

- Filter section
Filters dirt particles contained in outside air by means of a washable polyamide filter mat. After removal of the service door the filter can easily be drawn out and replace by new filter mat.

- Heating section
Heats the mixed air by means of steam, electricity, hot water or thermal oil during winter season, Steam heater is generally used for accommodation's heating and the coil is constructed with aluminum fins on seamless copper tubes.

- Cooling section
Cools the mixed air by direct expansion of refrigerant or chilled water during simmer season. The coil is constructed with aluminum fins on seamless copper tubes.

- Humidifying section
Maintains suitable humidity of accommodation spaces by infecting steam or water. This is necessary because the humidity of heated outside air at winter seasons is very low, Humidifier is constructed width spray nozzles for steam of hot fresh water.

- Water elimination section
This section is placed after cooling section and prevents the condensed water from carrying over into fan section.

- Fan section
Supplies the conditioned air from heating or cooling to accommodation spaces and contains a centrifugal fan of could be single inlet. The fan units is mounted on vibration dampers.

- Distribution section
Distribution section distributes the conditioned air to the ducts and is insulated with sound absorbing material to reduce the noise emitted from the fan.

Cabin Units
HI AIR KOREA cabin units are specially designed for the supply of conditioned air to ship's accommodation via the spiral duct air pipe system. For each type of HI AIR KOREA system (Single-pipe, Twin-pipe, Re-heat), there are a comprehensive range of cabin units comprising units for bulkhead mounting or ceiling suspension, units supplying the conditioned air through a grill, a ceiling diffuser or a punkah louver.

HI AIR KOREA cabin units are made in sizes to suit the ventilation requirements as well as the heating and cooling loads, All units have an air volume control device by means of which the air flow delivered can be varied from nil to a predetermined maximum. Units intended for Twin-pipe and Re-heat installation provide individual temperature control, independent of the air flow control.

In the design of the units, special attention has been devoted to sound attenuation, and in relation to the ambient sound levels occurring in ship's accommodation, very satisfactory sound levels have been achieved.
