A threaded or screwed flange has a similar shape to a slip-on flange, except that the bore is threaded.
With the threaded bore, the flange can be assembled to the pipe without a welding, and therefore, is used in highly volatile and explosive areas where welding is hazardous. However, the pressure containment capacity is relatively lower than other types of flanges.
