How to use steam cleaner "top clean"
Caution
This product is a high pressure steam manufacturing device which accompanies high temperature, and, therefore, the safety regulations related to the use must be followed during steam cleaning process.
1) Electricity(be cautious of electric shock)
- Select the voltage as specified in the manufacture regulation(separately use 220V and 110V)
- Since this product requires power, do not insert a number of plugs into the multi-tap
- Use grounded electrical outlet
- Do not use modified or damaged outlet/plug
- Do not install this product at a place exposed to flammable liquid and water
- Do not touch this product with wet hands
- Do not conduct temporary disassembly, repair or structural modification
- Do not touch this product with wet hands
2) Burn(high temperature/pressure)
- Since this product accompanies high temperature and high pressure during use, it is exposed to risk factors. Accordingly, this product must be used by the specialized personnel only, and those under age must be prohibited from using this product.
- Do not point or spray the steam nozzle toward a person
- During the steam discharge process, do not force open the cover while there is residual pressure to avoid a burn hazard
- Do not place any flammable substance near this product
- Do not insert any foreign substance into the airvent of this product(doing so may cause short circuit and fire)
- Contact either the HQ or expert who completed the product education for installing and repairing this product
Cautions during installation
- Select the voltage as specified in the manufacture regulation(separately use 220V and 110V)
- Use grounded electrical outlet
- Do not install this product at a place exposed to flammable liquid and water
- Since this product requires power, do not insert a number of plugs into the multi-tap
- Do not install or use this product in the high temperature working environment and confined space
- Do not expose this product to the low temperature environment during winter seasons(risk of freeze and burst)
Installation and operation
- Select a location with outstanding installation environments
- Use a suitably elevated table(height suitable for water supply)
- Insert the plug of the "top clean" device into the outlet that conforms to specifications
- Make sure that the main switch of the “top clean” device is turned "off" and the heater switch is turned "off"
- Open the water cover on the upper section of the device through rotating it clockwise(approximately 12 full rotations)
- Pour in the cleanly purified water
- Pour in the water until the water volume level gauge reaches "F" level(approximately 3.5L of water is required)
- Close the cover and turn "on" the main switch and heater switch
- If the “FULL” lamp and "HEATER” lamp are lit----the operating status is normal
- If the 4bar~5bar is being maintained after approximately 20 minutes, the operating status is normal
(When the heating starts from low temperature, an air-pocket gets created within the chamber and the caustic pressure disturbs the steam occurrence.In this case, discharge steam until the pressure gauge displays"1~2bar"less pressure,in order to create steam in a short period and maintain the normal pressure)
Cautions during use
1) Operating environmental conditions
- Altitude: 2,000m
- Temperature range: +0°C~40°C
- Relative humidity: up to 80% can be decreased at 31°C and up to 30% can be decreased at 40°
- Supply voltage: fluctuation range±10%
- Chamber pressure: up to 5.5bar(±10%)
- Chamber temperature: below 156°C- Water supply to chamber: ㉮ TC-400 manual supply (auto water supply system option-TC400A),
㉯ TC-500 auto supply: water supply regardless of water container for waterworks connection and water supply
2) Cautions
- Use cleanly purified water
- Type 1 distilled water is usable. Type 3 distilled water, ultra pure water and saline solution are unusable. Use of detergent is prohibited. Use of any other liquid including any congelation material is prohibited as well.
- Do not point it toward a person since high pressure/temperature steam is injected
- Wear safety goggles since the cleansing water may be splashed during the process
- Do not use it on products vulnerable to heat. Doing so may cause deformation.
- The condensed steam remaining within the nozzle tube may be injected along with the water during the initial use or reuse. However,it will naturally disappear soon.
- When the nozzle is blocked and the volume being injected is abnormal, turn off the main switch on the main body and repair the nozzle. Do not point the nozzle toward the face while the main switch is turned "on" to prevent negligent.
- When the device malfunctions, do not use the device until A/S is received
- The original product designated by the manufacturer must be used for A/S, and A/S must be provided by either the HQ or expert who completed the product education
- Operator must frequently observe the operating status of the device, install the device at locations where alert or abnormal sound can be heard, and make sure to shut down the power before leaving the workplace for the day.
Cautions during water makeup
1) TopClean 400 (MDS-TC400)
- When the low water level(water shortage) alert lamp is lit and the alert sound is activated
- When the low water level(water shortage) alert is activated, the heater power will be automatically shut down to protect the device
(the alert will be deactivated the moment the water is supplied)
- Rotate the water injection cover on the upper section of the main body clockwise(approximately 2 full rotations) to slowly decrease the chamber pressure
- When the two rotations are conducted and the level is brought down to the 2nd level, a large volume of steam will be discharged.
- Make sure to ware protective gloves prior to conducting the operation
- Use cleanly purified water
- The cover of this product is a part mainly developed to secure safety and durability. In order to prevent negligent accidents, approximately 12 full rotations must be made to open this cover, and it is designed so that the thermosetting damage can be minimized during fall and long-term use.
- Once the steam is completely discharged, completely open the cover and confirm the water flowmeter level as you add water until the "FULL" lamp on the front section of the device is lit.
- When the water is full, the indication lamp becomes lit and the prolonged buzzer sound becomes activated for 4 seconds
- After adding water, make sure to completely close the cover
- When the device is reactivated without any internal pressure(steam), the expanded steam contracts and the internal chamber creates a vacuum
- When the device is reactivated, the vacuum creates a noise. Open and close the cover prior to activation or operate the handle switch after
activation to reversely inject the external air to remove noises and promptly increase the pressure
- While adding water, make sure that no water leaks into the internal device
2) TopClean 500 (MDS-TC500)
- When the low water level(water shortage) alert lamp is lit and the alert sound is activated
- When the low water level(water shortage) alert is activated, the heater power will be automatically shut down to protect the device
(the alert will be deactivated the moment the water is supplied)
- Water shortage will be detected and adequate amount of water will be supplied based on the auto control of the microprocessor
- Regardless of the pressure within the chamber, the water supply pump will be automatically activated when the water shortage is detected
- Such auto water makeup process will be slowly processed for approximately 3 minutes- Such auto water makeup will be processed regardless of the supply water pressure
- When the water is full, the indication lamp becomes lit and the prolonged buzzer sound becomes activated for 4 seconds
- Other cautions are as described for TC-400 Model
<Cautions during auto water supply>
In the auto water supply process, the temporary water outage occurring during the direct water connection or external water tank connection creates vacuum within the pump line, and, therefore, the auto pump creates noise and conducts no-load operation.At this point, discharge the steam pressure within the chamber to normalize the operation.
What to inspect when the device is malfunctioning
- Confirm whether or not the plug of the "top clean" device is connected to the outlet
- Confirm whether or not the main switch and heater switch of the “top clean” device are turned "on"
- Confirm whether or not there is sufficient amount of water
- Check the fuse of the fuse holder. When the fuse caused a short circuit, use the spare fuse to take an emergency measure
How to clean“TopClean”
- Confirm whether or not the plug of the top clean device is disconnected from the outlet
- Use a delicate fabric(any fabric creating static electricity is not suitable for cleaning)
- Do not use wire brush, ferrum cotton, abrasive, chloride-included chemical, benzene, thinner or flammable substance for cleaning
- Do not inject any steam on the main body since the moisture and foreign substance may leak into the internal main body
- Set the pressure to low when the compressed air is used for cleaning
- The chamber must be internally cleaned 3~4 times per year
- The chamber must be internally cleaned using the exclusive acid balanced detergent
- After cleaning the chamber, use clean water to rinse it 3~4 times(insert the water into the filling hole and drain through the drain valve)
