Indication
• Grade 1 or 2 ankle sprains
• Stable fracture of the fibula, talus, calcaneus and malleolus
• Foot or toe injuries or surgery
Function
• Decreased heel-strike force on calcaneus.
• Substitue ankle motion
• Allow the ankle angle to be fixed at a set point or allow a range of movement between a set angle
