Product Description

We have made a significant breakthrough in the LPG tank manufacturing business thanks to our decades-old technological know-how.

LPG Tanks liquefy gases by lowering the temperature to below the freezing point when storing gases that are usually loaded in the cargo compartments of LPG carriers. Due to the fact that the temperature of LPG should remain below -42℃, their tanks use materials that can endure extremely low temperatures, such as nickel steel and LT steel. The LPG tanks are also categorized depending on the method of liquefying petroleum gas, either a low-temperature LPG tank or a high-pressure LPG tank.

Pressure tanks are installed on vessels to transport pressurized LPG at normal temperature. As such, they are used for coast-side transportation or for small-sized vessels. Low-temperature LPG tanks, on the other hand, are more suitable for large-scale transportation because they store LPG at a lower temperature and at normal pressure conditions

An LPG tank requires sophisticated techniques relative to other products, as it demands air-tight welding skills and large-sized freezers and heaters. Sejin Heavy Industries has been building upon its technological know-how in manufacturing LPG tanks since its first delivery of an LPG tank back in 2005. As a result, we are the only domestic supplier of LPG tanks for the world’s leading LPG carrier shipbuilders, which include Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.
At present, we are expanding our production facilities in anticipation of a significant increase in market demand for LPG carriers amid the booming production of shale gas in North America, and we are confident that our enterprising spirit will be the source of our successful growth in sales and size in several high value-added products.
