MExplorer

On 3rd of August, 1492, a great voyage of Christopher Columbus started across the estuary of Saltes in España to explorer a new continent with common points of explorers: Passion to pioneer the new road of maritime trade in place of the silk road and Courage to tide over the waves of ‘Euxine Sea’ for the discovery of new world. Here, I imagine what Columbus actually should tide over was the wave of fear billowing inside him, not the wind and the ocean current in the Atlantic. As a result of the discovery of the American continent, Columbus provided the shortest maritime route crossing the Atlantic and the new land for emigration of European people, which could be a milestone for the American continent to be the center of the present world.

On 16th of October, 2014, our great voyage of Material Explorer (MExplorer) started under sail of Passion and Courage from Rep. of Korea that is a small country in the Oriental Continent desired to be found in the Columbus’s sailing. The first new land we are exploring is the material of ‘Graphene’ called to be a ‘Dream Material’ in the future material industries. As carbon atoms turn into millions of different materials through a series of covalent bonding, ‘Graphene’, an atomically thin carbon layer, has suggested infinite potentials in an extensive range of industrial fields. In other words, our exploration in ‘Graphene’ material would be a work of ‘revolution in tradition’ because we offer the great potentials and visions of the future industries from one of the oldest material ‘Carbon’ in human history. As Columbus provided the milestone of the American continent to be the center of the present world, MExplorer also wish to contribute to providing the infinite potentials and development in the future material industries.

The material exploration of MExplorer is founded on the enterprise philosophy of Creativity, Communication, Harmony and Contribution.
