My first encounter with a banknote counter was in May 1977.

Through analyzing a banknote counter discarded by the US military, I created a number display with photosensors and CMOS IC and the frames by cutting aluminum plates with a saw and drilling bearing holes. On October of that same year, the development of a banknote counter the size of a 17” CRT Monitor was complete. This was the beginning of my wrestle with banknote counters.

In January of 1995,

100% of banknote sorters in Korea were imports, and Kisan began the development of banknote sorters with a pioneer mentality. After two years of hard work, Kisan became the first Korean manufacturer to develop a threepocket banknote sorter, the K-100. The thrill I felt then is as clear to me as it was yesterday. This marked Kisan’s entrance into the global market as a manufacturer of banknote sorters.

With the increase in the face value of banknotes

and the advancement of information communications technology, there was a need for an advanced banknote processing device to be used at bank counters. We were able to realize this need by compressing all of the advanced features in our K-500 banknote sorter into a compact two pocket banknote sorter, which we named “Newton.” With its release, Newton instantly became a worldwide hit due to its outstanding features. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere appreciation to all of our users and distributing partners, who’ve allowed this to happen.

Through the information we’ve accumulated

from exporting to over 60 countries,we have developed a deep understanding on how cash circulates in each country, how to authenticate counterfeit money, how to classify old and new notes as well as how to read and analyze serial numbers with accuracy and precision. These are now Kisan’s priceless assets.

Through 38 years of wrestling with banknote counters

and learning about our customers and our markets, we have gained expertise in the field of banknote processing technology.We will continue to communicate with our customers and become a pioneer in the financial automation industry by creating innovative products for our customers.
